Passion for Markets, Focus on Quality.

I discovered my passion for the stock market at the age of 16 and have been active as a private investor for more than 35 years. I bought my first shares in 1990 at the age of 18 for 200 DM – and I still own them today.

From the very beginning, I have managed only my own portfolio and that of my family. I deliberately decided not to manage other people’s money, allowing me to enjoy absolute freedom in my investment decisions as an exclusive private investor. My background includes the study of business management, politics, and history in Lüneburg, Mannheim, and Frankfurt. I was the headmaster of a high school, founded companies, and write books.

I’ve tried a lot; I have earned and lost money. I have acted wrong in the market and tried to learn from my mistakes. I lost money in the dotcom bubble by doing what everyone else was doing, but I made money right after the subprime crisis by following the principles of successful value investors and swimming against the tide. Knowledge and patience became the keys to my own success.
